PropsLab Terms of Use
Last updated: October 7, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Propslab LLC, a California limited liability company (the “Company”, “PropsLab”, “we”, “us”), the operator of PropsLab. They cover the PropsLab service and the PropsLab iPhone app. When you create an account, the app tells you that by creating it you confirm you’re 18 or older and agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. By creating an account or using PropsLab, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use PropsLab.
Your license to the PropsLab app itself comes from Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add the rules for the PropsLab service on top of it (section 9).
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, what other users can see, and how to delete your account.
The short version
- Updated October 7, 2026: the operator is Propslab LLC. Nothing else in these terms changed.
- PropsLab is a sports analysis tool. Its probabilities are calibrated against outcomes; they are not demonstrated to beat closing prices. It is analysis, not betting advice, and no outcome is guaranteed.
- PropsLab does not take bets, hold money, or connect you to a sportsbook. Paper slips use virtual money only.
- You must be at least 18 years old, and you are responsible for following the laws where you live.
- A subscription is required to use PropsLab. It is billed to your Apple ID and renews automatically until you cancel.
- New accounts appear on Rankings by default. You can turn it off in Settings > Show me in Rankings.
- Chat has rules. Messages are checked before they post by link and word filters and, when it is available, an AI moderation service.
1. What PropsLab is, and what it is not
PropsLab runs statistical models on sports data. For a player or game outcome, it shows the model’s probability next to the probability implied by market prices, with the market’s built-in margin removed, and the difference between the two. It also estimates the expected value at a given price.
- Calibrated, not proven to win. PropsLab’s probabilities are calibrated against outcomes: we compare what the model said with what actually happened, and the app shows that record. They are not demonstrated to beat closing prices. A model probability that differs from the market is the model disagreeing with the market, not a prediction that you will profit.
- Analysis, not betting advice. Nothing in PropsLab is betting, financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to place any wager. You make your own decisions and you are responsible for them. Any wager you place is between you and the operator you place it with.
- No guarantee of any outcome. Sports are uncertain. We do not guarantee any result, return, win rate or accuracy, and past performance does not predict future results.
- Third-party data. Statistics, schedules, injury reports, prices and images come from third parties. They can be late, incomplete or wrong, and a price shown in PropsLab may differ from what a sportsbook offers now.
- Independent. PropsLab is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any league, team, athlete, players' association, or sportsbook.
- Written analysis. Some written analysis in PropsLab is drafted by an AI model from sports data and our model’s numbers. It can contain mistakes. Deep Analysis text is generated by an AI model from facts we verified. Factual statements in it can still be wrong and should not be relied on without checking them.
- Paper slips are virtual. Paper slips, stakes and bankrolls in PropsLab use virtual money. They have no cash value and cannot be redeemed, exchanged or transferred.
2. Gambling and the law
Sports betting is legal only in some places and is restricted by age and location. You are responsible for knowing and following the laws that apply to you, including any law about gambling or about using analysis like PropsLab’s. PropsLab is not a sportsbook and does not accept, place, broker or settle wagers.
If gambling is causing problems for you or someone you know, call 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537), the US national problem gambling helpline. It is free and confidential.
3. Who can use PropsLab
- You must be at least 18 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. When you create an account, you confirm that you are at least 18.
- You must not be barred from using PropsLab under the laws that apply to you.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo or that the US Government has designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
4. Your account
- You need an account and an active subscription to use PropsLab (section 5). Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at support@propslab.io if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account. Do not create accounts to impersonate someone or to manipulate Rankings.
- You can delete your account in the app in Settings > Delete Account, or by emailing support@propslab.io from the address on your account. The Privacy Policy lists what deletion removes and what it does not. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
5. Subscriptions
- A subscription is required. PropsLab has no free version. To use it, you need an active PropsLab subscription, bought through Apple’s in-app purchase. If the App Store offers you a free trial, the trial counts as an active subscription while it lasts.
- Price shown before purchase. The PropsLab subscription renews automatically. The app shows the plan, its price and its billing period before you buy. Prices can vary by country and are set in the App Store.
- Billed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase. We never see or store your payment details.
- Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings: on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. You can also get there from Settings > Manage Subscription in PropsLab. When you cancel, the subscription stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and then stops.
- Free trials. If a free trial is offered, the app shows its length before you start it, and Apple decides who is eligible. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and your Apple ID is charged when the trial ends. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- When a subscription ends. If your subscription ends, the app asks you to subscribe again before you can keep using PropsLab. Your account and your records stay until you delete your account.
- Refunds are handled by Apple. Apple processes all payments, so refund requests go to Apple under Apple’s policies (reportaproblem.apple.com). We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases.
- Restoring. If you reinstall the app or change devices, tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen or in Settings while signed in to the same Apple ID.
- Deleting your account does not cancel billing. Cancel your subscription with Apple first if you no longer want it.
6. Rankings
Rankings compares paper-trading records. New accounts appear on Rankings by default. A new account is listed once it has at least one settled paper slip. An account created while Rankings was opt-in keeps the Rankings setting it had. Other signed-in PropsLab users can see your row, which shows your display name, @username and avatar, and your paper record: rank, number of slips, wins, losses and pushes, win rate, profit or loss, total staked, return on stake, current bankroll and best streak. All amounts are virtual. Your email address and bio are never shown on Rankings.
To take yourself off Rankings, turn off Settings > Show me in Rankings. Other users then stop seeing your row. You can still see your own record, and you can turn it back on at any time.
7. Profiles, live rooms and chat
Your content
Your content is what you add to PropsLab: your display name, @username, avatar and bio, chat messages and replies, reactions, slip legs you share to a room, and slip titles. You keep ownership of it. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, display and distribute it within PropsLab, only to operate PropsLab. If you turn on Open to scouting in Settings and agree, you also let us share your display name and @username, with your email address and paper record, with the partners you agreed to, as the Privacy Policy describes. You are responsible for your content, and you confirm you have the right to post it.
How you appear in chat
In live rooms you appear under a generated handle (for example “Cobalt Prism #4821”), not your display name or @username. The handle is linked to your account in our systems. When you have an open paper position on a game, your messages in that game’s room show the side you took and your virtual stake, whether or not you appear on Rankings. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Chat rules: no objectionable content, no abusive users
We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not post or share:
- hate speech, including slurs or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age;
- harassment, bullying or threats against a person;
- sexual or sexually explicit content, graphic violence, or content that encourages self-harm;
- anyone’s personal information;
- links, email addresses or phone numbers;
- spam or advertising, including promotion of sportsbooks, betting services or paid tips, referral or promo codes, and attempts to move people off PropsLab;
- offers to take, arrange or broker bets with other users;
- content that impersonates another person or PropsLab staff;
- anything illegal, or content that infringes someone else’s rights.
Opinions and trash talk about teams, players and the model are fine, and so is general profanity that is not aimed at a person.
How chat is moderated
Every message is checked before it posts, in this order:
- Links and contact details. Links and link-like text, email addresses and phone numbers are blocked.
- Blocked words. Messages that contain words on our blocked list, such as slurs and harassment terms, are blocked.
- AI check. An AI moderation service checks the message for hate or slurs, harassment or threats, sexual content, encouraging self-harm, personal information, spam or advertising, arranging bets, and impersonating PropsLab staff. If it finds one of these, the message is not posted, and you are told why.
If the AI check is unavailable, a message that passes the first two checks is posted. If the AI moderation service declines to assess a message, the message is not posted. The other chat rules above are not part of the automated checks; a message that breaks them can still be reported, and we may remove it. Posting is also rate-limited. Automated checks can make mistakes in either direction. The Privacy Policy explains what the AI moderation service receives and what we record.
Reporting and blocking
- In chat, press and hold a message, then choose Report message or Block this user.
- In a live game room, tap a message, then tap the flag to report it or the raised hand to block its author.
- Blocking hides that user’s messages from you.
- The first time a message is reported, our AI moderation service reviews it and hides it if it breaks the chat rules. If that review cannot run, a later report tries again.
- A message reported by three different users is hidden automatically.
- You can also report a message, a profile or a user by email to support@propslab.io. Include the game or room, the approximate time and the handle or name.
Repeated violations
If our AI moderation service finds that three of your messages broke the chat rules within 7 days, whether it blocked them before posting or hid them after a report, you cannot post in chat for 24 hours. The app tells you when you can post again.
We may also remove or hide any content, and suspend or close any account, that breaks these terms.
8. Using PropsLab fairly
Do not:
- copy, scrape, resell or redistribute PropsLab’s analysis or data, or use it to build a competing product;
- use bots, scripts or automated access, or get around rate limits, usage limits or security;
- access another person’s account, or interfere with or overload the service;
- reverse engineer or decompile the app, except where the law allows it;
- use PropsLab for anything unlawful.
9. The app license, and ownership
Apple’s standard EULA governs the app license. Your license to download and use the PropsLab app is granted under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”, at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula). These terms are supplemental terms of service: they add the rules for your account, your subscription, Rankings, chat and the rest of the PropsLab service on top of the Standard EULA. If these terms and the Standard EULA conflict about your license to the app, the Standard EULA governs.
Apple is not a party to these terms. Nothing in these terms is meant to conflict with the App Store Terms of Service. If it does, the App Store Terms of Service govern your purchase and download of the app through the App Store.
We and our licensors own PropsLab, including the app, its models, analysis and design. Neither these terms nor the Standard EULA give you any right to them beyond that license. Team names, logos, player names and images belong to their owners.
10. Disclaimers
PropsLab is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that PropsLab will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time, or that any analysis, probability or price is accurate or current.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost wagers, gambling losses or lost data, arising from or related to PropsLab or these terms, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to PropsLab is limited to the amount you paid for PropsLab in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Some places do not allow these exclusions or limits, so they apply to you only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, from a third-party claim caused by your content or by your breach of these terms.
13. Ending your use
- You can stop using PropsLab and delete your account at any time, in the app or by email (section 4).
- We may suspend or close your account, or remove your content, if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other users or PropsLab. We may also change, suspend or discontinue PropsLab or any feature.
- Closing your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID subscription settings. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.
- Sections 1, 2, 10, 11, 12, 15 and 16 continue to apply after your account ends, as does the content license in section 7 for anything still stored as the Privacy Policy describes.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version at this address and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we may also tell you in the app. If you keep using PropsLab after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using PropsLab and delete your account.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before bringing a claim, please email support@propslab.io so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that is not resolved that way will be decided by the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you live outside the United States, the mandatory consumer protections of your country still apply.
16. General
- These terms, the Standard EULA (section 9) and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about PropsLab.
- If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a part of these terms, we have not waived it.
- You may not transfer these terms or your account to anyone else. We may transfer these terms as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
17. Contact
